Just for fun - it's pretty quiet in the forum - an important question: if disaster would strike this minute and your computer would crash, how bad would that be? Would you lose just a couple of hours work because you backup/sync your important files every day? If not, then do a backup today Loes

Is cloud your preferred back-up?

No definitely not in the cloud. I prefer locally on a portable SSD drive. I use a program named "Beyond compare" from www.scootersoftware.com It's very affordable and once set up, it's just a few clicks and things are synced in a few minutes, which I do every day. The file structure on my portable drives is setup the same as on my computer. I only backup the files created with the various programs. I do not backup the program files themselves, because when disaster strikes you will have to reinstall the programs anyhow. Cloud: don't like it, can be hacked, and cloud data centers require incredible amounts of space and energy. Not a fan. Loes

I have paranoias that external drives if also lost in a calamity - ie, a house fire or robbery - one would be left on the lurch.
It seems extra partial back-ups on the securest possible cloud drives would be an added good idea - again, not so much sensitive personal data, but for partial backups such as antenna project files and similar.
I'm impressed by your daily sync/back up routine! Very prudent and 'a stitch in time saves nine' approach.
