When a website which is not specifically set up for mobile access is accessed by a mobile, only part of the image displays but it can be manually shrunk to fit and on iphone will lock to the screen size (width on landscape, height on portrait).
How can this process be set up in the mobile option for the website so that access on the mobile will give, for example, a full screen locked landscape image without manual correction?
I had hoped the desktop/mobile option in v7 would resolve this but cannot see it so far.

Hi Geoff, Click on the button in the top right hand corner and select mobile layout. You then may need to move each item to the left so that you can click and hold the right-hand image and drag it towards your left so that it lies within the marquee of the mobile layout. Pictures should keep their proportion, text boxes, you will need to click on the bottom marquee to make the text box longer to be able to see the information. If I remember rightly text will keep its size. If you do need to change any text size, make sure you do it in the mobile layout. It will not affect your text in the larger layout. It's a bit fiddly I know but once you get the hang of it, it is very quick and easy if you take a look at www.g0dcp.co.uk with a desktop and a mobile you will see what I mean. The only thing that I changed was the header which is separate in the mobile to the desktop. Good luck, Prem

Thank you for your response Prem. I had a look at your site which did help me identify why I was having problems. My desktop version text is mostly 20 point which is too big for mobile but when I reduced it to 11 point on the mobile setting, it was also changed on the desktop therefore not acceptable. The end mobile result was less satisfactory than the desktop loaded to the mobile and manually shrunk to fit in landscape.
Searching for methods of controlling shrink to fit, setting the mobile width as a percentage of the desktop eg at 33% can be used but I cannot find this option in standard Antennna. Could there be a fix to do this?

Hi Geoff,
On your second point I don't think there is an option. As you can see the text and boxes for the header in my desktop is quite large and like you I found it would not reduce in size, so while I was in the mobile setting I opened up the necessary boxes including text box then copied the wording across and reduce the point size to suit. The only problem if you do that with your text is if you need to alter it you have to alter in both the desktop and mobile. Luckily I do not have to alter my header.
Maybe Frank or Graham will know if your second point is possible.
Best of luck, Prem

With your mobile version there is no option to shrink by a percentage. When adding items in for your mobile version you only need to show the relevant items you want to display and hide the rest. Bear in mind the mobile is a cut down version and if your using a hamberger menu its best make sure the normal menu is hidden on the smaller viewpoint.

To keep the ratio of images correct make sure to hold the Ctrl while resizing physically using the border controls. It's all fairly fast if you have the desktop done.

Because of the problems on reducing font size for mobile, I have now tried using the mobile redirect but with no success. To check my logic, I have started a new simple project as per manual p96 with index only a text box, content 'DESKTOP' and a mobile index text box 'MOBILE' and using the default page widths as advised. Access by mobile still loads the desktop screen and it is not fitted to screen.
Any ideas for resolution Geoff

I think I am finding this as well. I am a bit confused by the mobile redirect. I made a desktop site, then made a second similar site under a "mobile" file. It has more pages and they are rebuilt to be mobile sized but so far only the desktop version shows up.

If you already tried the mobile... then try the direct the direct fails... it seems the mobile keeps overriding the direct. Try the direct on a new project without clicking to mobile option. frank

I don't know whether I have got this right but I suspect you're not reducing the width of your objects to within the size of the mobile frame. Once you have setup your page in the desktop layout and then clicked on mobile layout. Hopefully you are reducing the width of any text boxes and images to within the size for the mobile layout. Images should keep the proportion, text boxes and panels would need to be narrowed down to the width for the mobile and lengthened to accommodate the text and/or panel requirements to suit the mobile. Do not try to reduce the width of your objects for the mobile layout while you are still in the desktop layout you must do the reducing while in the mobile layout.
Hope that helps although I am just guessing what you have been doing. Prem.

I don't know if this will help but if you like to go into www.g0dcp.co.uk/desktoptomobile.ata this will download my site.theme page and my index.html page. This will give you the opportunity to run through the settings and things and also give you a chance to experiment with different effects. If you muck it up you can always re-download it and start again. Hopefully it helps, Prem.
