The integrated publisher that comes with Antenna is no longer working with a number of web host providers. I've been told by my hosts that their servers are now using an updated TLS setting and I think that may be preventing Antenna from modifying the root web folder. I am extremely frustrated as I oversee a number of websites for friends via antenna and haven't been able to modify any since Christmas, with numerous calls to host provider getting no results. It would really help if someone could provide a clear step by step walkthrough of how to export and upload the Antenna site via Filezilla for those of us who are not too tech savvy. Many thanks in advance Chris

Hi rustyfish,
If you have already not noticed. Some sites are still useing http://while some sites are using the more secure setting of https://, then the rest of the address. To save your website so that you can update with Filezilla you need to click on antennas site menu then click export. What I have done under my websites folder is add a subfolder, this I have called "backup" and this is where I point antenna to export the website files. In Filezilla, move to your backup directory you have just made and upload the files. Hope it all works for you. Good luck.
Prem.

Hi Prem, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Tried stepping through the process as you described but getting an inactivity error rejection from the server when going through Filezilla. Will try again later and let you know.

Hi Rustyfish,
Maybe my recent post on similar subject might help you out:
Hi pkline. Just noticed yr post and it looks that meanwhile you have resolved the error. I am experiencing similar issues on (some!) hosting servers when using Antenna’s ftp upload feature (it only happens after updating the site; wrong aligned boxes, texts, images, total mess). Not sure about the cause but it looks something at the server’s end and not Antenna. My 3 suggestions which work for me: 1. From Antenna’ ftp feature: Upload ALL files after you update yr site (i.e. not just the changed files). See settings in Antenna prior to starting the upload. 2. Use Filezilla (free download) to login on the hosting server so you can see all of your site’ files in the upload folder. Next in Filezilla: remove all your site files (no others like .htaccess etc!). Next upload yr site from Antenna. 3. From Antenna: EXPORT yr entire site to a local empty folder. Next: open Filezilla and move all files from your local folder into the appropriate folder on the hosting server.
Maybe it could help others experiencing these kind of issues as well.

Hi All, As far as I can work out the issue I have with the Antenna integrated FTP publisher is related to the fact my hosting provider has upgraded their security protocols from TLS 1.1 to TLS 1.2. This has resulted in my host server based email accounts not working and also my Antenna software failing to publish on line. I have resolved the mail issue by upgrading my email client to a newer version which now works fine. Is there any chance that this can be resolved or updated in the Antenna software as at the moment I cant upload any amendments to my websites and therefore the software has become redundant for me? Many thanks, Chris

Hi Chris,
Please can you send me a copy of Antenna's publishing log when you attempt to publish? It might provide a clue to changes your host has made (besides TLS 1.2). Our host supports TLS 1.0 1.1 1.2 and also 1.3 - Antenna publishes OK there.
Odd that FileZilla isn't connecting to your host either.
After a publishing attempt, click on the Log tab in Antenna's publishing window to copy the log. You can send it me via the Stormdance contact form.
Cheers, J

Hi Chris/Rustyfish,
Did you manage connecting your host through FileZilla as I suggested in my post FEB 21st,sub2? I (and guess a majority of other Antennians) do not face any problems connecting throug Antenna's ftp..For sure Julian will be able to shed a light yr problem after sending him yr publishing log. Regards, Hans

Hi Chris,
Thanks for posting the log. Yes, I think it might help diagnose, as it shows the last server message. Time to do a bit of research... Would you be willing to test an Antenna Beta version?
Just in case it is useful to know, I checked Antenna v6 yesterday and it includes support TLS 1.2 connections.
Cheers, J

Hi J, I have been in touch with my Host provider and am following a couple of possibilities up with them. One relates to some name servers that have been modified. I should be able to look at these after the weekend. I'll let you know if this is successful before you go too far down the beta route. Best C

Hi Chris,
I've uploaded an Antenna v7 Beta build over in the Updates & Suggestions forum.
If you'd like to give it a try - there's several significant enhancements to the publisher, including tweaked security settings for FTPS (FTP over SSL). The demo page has more details.
Cheers, J
