I need advice on this one. One of my many work in progress sites is getting closer to being finished. I am still working on the map and booking system but need your input on the main character (meerkat) and the colour scheme. Front Page The voice is terrable I know, so don't listen, I will still get a voice actor or something. www.ezwebs.co.za/lol/index.htm

Pieter, I really like the robot squirrel but it always stops and stutters halfway through the message. Even with a page reload.
I am not so sure about the panels floating up and down. It is a cool effect but maybe not needed.
Lastly, on the "promise" text. I think it should be: "We visit every venue once a month to ensure you, the Guest, are ensured of quality service." --with commas around 'the Guest' But the problem may be that it is kind of a complicated way to say it. " ...to ensure you are ensured..." It may be punchier to say something like, "We visit every venue once a month to ensure consistent high quality service."
Sorry if that is picky, but to me, the less words the better.

Hi Bob
Thanks for taking a look. I never tested the website for slower connections and once I did I got the same stutters you were talking about. I reinvented the wheel and hopefully its fixed now. I also took the words you mentioned into consideration but added some stuff to make it more SEO
Could some other people please have a look to make sure my robot squirrel actually a meerkat like Hakuna Matata - Timon look and play well.
Thanks
Pieter

Pieter the critter has lost his stutter, You could probably sell him as a talking character, i adore him. Not a fan of the bouncing menu, maybe 1 bounce in on page load. distracting to watch and listen to the critter and eyes moving to catch the menu. Can you set up a delay on the menu to move after the chatter. I sure hope the info on the page links will be replaced.... all in all the home page design is great, Something tells me this topic should be in the help desk, I could be wrong. You would probably get more eyes there.
My 25 cents worth

The little guy with the proper "English" gives me the willies ...lol... very creative. I think you would be better suited adding some sort of representative image for each category. The big blocks seems like its not "done"...

is it just me or do the links on the blocks all take you to the same page with no option of return back to the main page.

The blocks all point to the Map but after spending a lot of time on the map still hate it. I decided to put this project on ice. The also tried the meerkat with voices from all my friends and family but still can't get it to sound right.

The Meerkat is cool...lol...but it takes a good few minutes before he starts talking.
In answer to your original question, I like the color combination of the page.

Maybe if all the locations showed up by default ... then if they want see something in particular they narrow it.. just a thought.

Thanks for all your input! I know the meerkat takes awhile to load so I reduced the frame rate and got it down to about 600 kb in stead of the 1.2 mb it is currently at. I also went back to my original idea that can be seen here: www.ezwebs.co.za/guide/index.htm (lady will be replaced by meerkat) As soon as I have a working sample I will re-upload it. If anyone have a nice picture of a meerkat with a white background please forward it to me. Pieter
