Hello, Although I am an experienced mechanical design engineer, this is the first time I developed my own website. I searched reviews on web authoring tools, and saw that Stormdance was recommended as an alternative to Dreamweaver. The problem was, I did not want to create my own theme / header and started looking at some premium themes / templates. As I was unable to find exactly what I was looking for, I contacted Angulo Web Design templates. I sent Frank a sample of my work, and he created this custom header / template for me. What do you think of the website layout ( www.appianwaytech.com)? Although I created my own layout, having a custom template created made it easier to learn how to use Antenna. The website is still a work in progress, so any suggestions to improve it (minor changes)? Chris

Hi cthompson
welcome to Antenna and the forums.
You site looks nice and clean however I found it very difficult to read the last 3 menu items due to the black colour and the dark colours in the header.
I looked at it on 3 different monitors with different browsers and got very different results, some were ok to read but overall the menu names didn't seem to stand out.
maybe change the colour of the links or lighten off the header a bit by using the opacity setting in Antenna.

cthompson: welcome to the Forum.
I like your layout, it is very clean, nice design, the only thing I didn't like was the Blog. Not that the Blog was bad, its very nice too. But it takes you away from the main site, with new menus, it almost like your at a completely new site, and I guess in a way you really are. But how do you get back. most people will just go on to the next site.
It need to be tied in with the main site to keep people there..
Just my opinion. Looks very nice anyway.

Graham,
I moved the header to a separate layer (theme), and tested the opacity setting using preview. I did not like the results, so I will probably not change to opacity of the header. I could try changing the color of the text on the navigation buttons, so what color do you suggest to help it stand-out more?
Concerning the blog, it is a Wordpress blog, so it really is a different site. Wordpress is separate from Antenna, so the two are not really integrated. Some Wordpress users set-up Wordpress to be both a blog and website, but the tools are really for two different purposes.
To return to the website from the blog, click on the homepage link in the navigation bar, then click on the logo. Wordpress does not add the navigation button unless a new page is created. If there is a way to remove the page in Wordpress, but keep the navigation button and redirect the link to the main website, I would be interested in knowing about the technique.

Chris have you tried linking the blog to your Antenna site via an IFRAME? That way you are actually on your site...

Hi chris Welcome to antenna. Great site, very clean and sleek. Your blog can be customized to match your site, or as Frank suggests bring it into antenna with an I-frame. I too found the right 2 links difficult, maybe the hover color could be changed (try the same as your blue left panels), it"s the orange that I find hard to read. The header is awesome. great job

Chris, On your pages under meta tags description ..Instead of HOMEPAGE, describe the page using words on the page... I think you can use around 200 text spaces...
Google and others use the desription more then keywords.
