ok went and downloaded sothinks's Glanda 2004, which is a good little program. I created a basic flash banner for the head of my page i then publish this from Glada to my H/D. I then open Antenna create a new web, create a new folder name it flash then import my flash into that folder. I then edit index.htm which opens "page editor" i then click on the purple tab for flash movie i set the box to the exact size, choose the flash in the flash movie, make sure the background is transparent (have also tried it not transparent with no joy) have tried flash ver 1 to 7 with no joy. When i preveiw the page i get the gold bar that says to help protect security, ie has blocked this file as its active click here blah blah i then click and allow the active content the page then goes blank and if i hover the mouse over the bottom grey bar in ie (where it say opening) i get the sand timer which stay there forever, but i dont get no flash movie. I must be upto date with the version of flash as when i go to macromedias site i see all the content. have i done anything wrong or has anyone got any ideas. Just to note the version of glanda is trial which shouldn't make a difference as i could not see any restrictions with this version compared with the full version. DoXe

Hi DoXe,
>> "...to help protect security, ie has blocked this file..." <<
Sounds like your browser security might be set so high that Flash movies can't play. Here's a couple of things to try:
1. Open Internet Explorer on it's own. Drag and drop your Flash movie (e.g. movie.swf) from Windows Explorer into Internet Explorer. Does the movie appear and play straight away?
2. Wild guess: In Antenna select your Flash movie on the page, then in the Object Properties palette change the Flash-version number to match your version of Flash.

ok it wont play in ie browser if i drag and drop the file. I have tried to set my security to low but it wont allow me it says the recommended level is medium and will only allow that level or higher. Also where do i find what version of flash i have as i cant find anything in the glanda s/w that tells me and if i go to macromedia and try to d/l the latest version my pc hangs and the whole page never loads. Thanks for your time. DoXe

Hi DoXe,
If Internet Explorer won't play your Flash file (but it will play other Flash movies) that suggests there may be something wrong with your Glanda Flash file. There's no point importing a broken Flash file into Antenna.
The company that makes Glanda is more likely to be able to help here as I don't have any experience with the software you are using to create the Flash file, so it's difficult for me to offer advice.
Another possiblity (as you've probably guessed) is that the version of the Flash player installed on your system may be too old to play Glanda Flash movies. If you right-click any Flash movie in Internet Explorer it will tell you what version you are running (e.g. About Flash Player 6...)
If attempting to download an updated Flash player hangs your entire system, then this may be a sign that your PC or Windows installation is unhealthy. Windows 2000 and XP are fairly robust against ordinary software causing a complete system hang (usually just the offending program goes down) - a faulty driver can do it though. If you are getting total system hangs this needs addressing - trying to produce work on an unstable system is no fun!
Cheers, Stormdance
