Hi, I've just upgraded from 4.?? to 5.3, my website needed updating and I was eager to use the latest "Antenna". I now am unable to edit a textbox! Double clicking on the textbox is simply ignored. I can move the box and change it's properties, but I can't edit it. If I load a new project and create a textbox I have the same issue. I've re-installed "Antenna", this did not rectify the issue. Also when I try to close "Antenna" it freeze's, I then have to close it using the task manager. Any idea's please.

Hi Mike e, Can you tell us what system you are on? Windows7 or 8, and what internet explorer you are running on? maybe we can figure out what's going on. Cheers, Frank
ps: 1) Most people have had success with Grahams recommendation: Open IE and click the little gear top right and then go to internet options---Advanced Tab then click on reset and restart the browser to see what happens)"
2) Download the Antenna file again and try reinstalling from a NEW download in case it was corrupt.

Hi Frank, I'm using Win7, I never use IE, I prefer Firefox. I did another download as suggested but same result. I have made some progress with this issue though, I took the downloaded Antenna file and installed it on my laptop, all worked fine, so the issue was on my desktop pc. I then created a VM using Oracle on my desktop pc, loaded Antenna there, all worked fine! hence eliminating the pc's hardware. From that I think the issue maybe caused by a conflict in a Service / process that's running and effecting the Textbox, which I find really odd. Being a software developer I have a lot of applications installed on my pc, Antenna is the only one with this type of problem. It would be nice to get to the bottom of this issue, but for now I'll use Antenna in the VM. Regards Mike

Antenna uses IE for its processing whether you use the browser for previewing or not.... I recommend you try the IE RESET option 1. Cheers, Frank

Hi Frank, Thanks for assisting.I tried resetting IE but unfortunately it had no effect. In order to eliminate the double click issue if I use a photo gallery object and double click on it the object behaves perfectly and displays the "photo album creator", hence double clicks work for this object.
If I then place a textbox on index.htm I can change all items in the objects properties (i.e. background colour). When I double click on the textbox to edit the "properties window" goes to the "Text" tab indicating that the double click has been recognised, but I am not able to edit text in the textbox. I can go elsewhere on my index.htm page to work on other objects, for instance "photo gallery" and all appears ok.
When I close the index.htm page the page closes but from there onwards Antenna is frozen! A mouse click on anything just results in the PC giving an error beep. I then have to use the task manager to end the process "Antenna.exe *32" in order to close it down.
During these tests I used a simple one web page project (index.htm), I also disabled my AV to eliminate that. As I said before it works fine within the Oracle VM. When I use it there I'm well impressed with the latest version.

I got this message from J
"One thing that might be worth a try: on the same PC, log into Windows using a different user account. For example if his usual Windows user account is 'Mike', perhaps log into a Windows Guest account instead, and test Antenna from there.
That way you'll know whether the issue is system wide, or just limited to one single Windows user account. If it turns out to be just one user account where the issue occurs, then that would suggest a setting somewhere that could be changed (likely in IE's Internet Options - figuring out which setting might mean comparing settings between a working and non-working system).
Hope this information helps a little, Best regards, Julian"
Just passing it on Mike, Cheers, Frank

Hi Frank, Yes, I tried that, but still not working. Before I reside myself to using Antenna within the Oracle VM I thought I'de try running it in Windows safe mode, this still did not work, I even turned as many services off as possible, still no result.
I have noticed a difference between running Antenna on my "host" PC and Oracle's VM.
When I create a textbox (using my host pc) and I click on the "Opened book" icon in the textbox properties tab, I get an Error message ...
Message from webpage Error in UnMarkAll typeError unable to get property 'content document' of undefined or null reference
I think this may be where it's going wrong
When doing this within the Oracle VM, no error exists
I'm well out of idea's in trying to eliminate things and will use Antenna in the VM, a bit of a shame as I consider Antenna to be an excellent product apart from this issue.
Thanks for the assistance
Regards Mike

Hi Mike,
Having the same issues (even with the latest version 5.4, on an up-yo-date Windows 7 premium, not using Windows Explorer but still keep that updated). Did you meanwhile find a solution by any chance?

Hi Loes, Sorry for late reply. I was unable to resolve the issue. I eventually installed Antenna on a virtual machine on my PC using Oracle VM VirtualBox, this worked fine! so for time being I'm using it there. It's somewhat confusing as it eliminated my hardware and my OS (Win7 Pro), I deleted many processes / services but did not get anywhere. I tried to contact Antenna regarding the issue but they never replyied, guess they were pretty busy.
By any chance did you resolve the issue? Regards Mike

No my issue was not resolved on the computer in our vacation home in Austria. Meanwhile we're back home and on this computer things work fine in 5.3. I sort of hesitate to install 5.4 though... I did get several replies by Julian (asked me to update Internet Explorer, disable add-ons etc). Maybe he replied to you too: check your personal messages at the top of this forum window.

Loes, I'd update to 5.4 if I were you, but make sure to keep a copy of the antenna5.3 exe file... just in case. But you really "shouldn't" have a problem if 5.3 was working for you. Vaya-con-dios!

We are back in Austria, for the next two weeks. I have updated and synchronized everything on this Austria computer - a twin sister of the computer back home in my office. I updated Antenna to the latest version 5.52 and guess what... I still cannot edit anything in Antenna (not my own ATA files nor the Example site) so I cannot work on my websites at all while I am here.
That means vacation time. We already tried everything during our last visit in April and couldn't find a cause. After our stay in April I saw that lots of my ATA files on the computer back home show padlock icons - so that is definitely not the cause.
No need to reply - Antenna sent me on vacation and it's beautiful here...

Still in Austria and I tried again to edit one of my websites: I found that when I click about 50 - 100 pixels away from the left side of a text box (or a panel), the object is selected and I can move or delete it.
Still cannot edit it, because double-clicking (on or to the left of the text) does not select the text itself.
When I change the properties of the selected text box to X 0 and Y 0 the text object is placed at X 0, Y 200 on the Antenna design page. Julian, does this give you a clue somehow?
