I am designing a website for a small business using Antenna and I want to know if there is a website anywhere that let's you upload working samples of what is being done so my customer can see the work as it is being done and recommend changes or approve of likes? I don't think my customer has a domain name that is registered or a server right now. Antenna does not allow me to just drop the customer's site into an existing site I have already created and have hosting for.(you can only have one "index.htm" page). I can however create a single page with any name but "index.htm" with the link to it being on my existing website, but it does not allow the customer to see all of the other pages on the site under construction. Is there something I can do, or am I required to get a separate domain name and hosting for the customer?

Hi, Simply add a directory client name (folder) to your existing website. Your current website is most likely in the root.. add a folder in your public folder within Antenna ftp setup... Example: /client-name if your current site is uploaded to Public Folder: htdocs/ add your clients name to the end: htdocs/client-name if public_html add your client name to the end: public_html/client-name if in the root add your client name in the space: /client-name What will happen when you upload the new sample test site it will go to www.your-domain.com/client-name and look in that directory for the index page and show the new test site. You can have as many index pages as you want as long as they are in folders. www.threefooter.com is a website I own but I like testing stuff in directories (folders within it) www.threefooter.com/avda3www.threefooter.com/newredirectI probably have 20-30 test up under the original link. Hope that helps,

Frank: I did what you said and added a subfolder in the "public_html" folder with FileZilla and transferred all of the customer site files into it, but when I went to check it after it was successfully uploaded I typed in the URL with the added extension and I got an error page that said I was restricted from viewing it, how can I fix this, or does my server have a block on subdirectories?

You typed in the url plus the "folder name" (not public_html In my sample it would be: www.threefooter.com/avada3 (avada3 being the folder in threefooter.com I do not need to type in anything else..as long as there is a index page in the avada3 file the browser will find it. If you made the site in antenna... you can simply add a folder called TEST to Antennas FTP / set up Public folder: public_html/test Now when you upload the website from within Antenna it will make a TEST folder (no need to add it via filezilla) on your hosted site, and populate it with the index and all other files as well. Any joy? Frank

It's all set, I made a "test" folder within the "public_html" folder with the ftp in Antenna and it works, thank you so much for the help.

I'm glad.. now you can make as many test websites as you like and simply add them under the original url umbrella. It also good to add a robots.txt stopping the test sites from being indexed. Cheers,
Frank

Hi guys... That's good, if wanting your existing site included in the domain name. I do the same, sending additional files/data to customers off of their own domains. However, i generally use FREE hosting, (no i am not an affiliate xx),with 000webhost.com I presently have about 20 free accounts with them ! (and paid ones). Before the customer has the 'proper' domain online, i set these up for them. They can review the whole site in progress, and when finalized i often use them for permanent hosting, ($3 to $4 / month for long-term plans), and Domain-Reg is free! I'm not trying to 'sell' THEM, but this style of site progression is great.
